My Scrapbooks & Notes

A Creative History by Victor Hawk Barriga

Long before the books, the covers, the characters, and the finished projects, there were scraps of paper, old notebooks, rough sketches, loose ideas, and handwritten notes. Some of these ideas go back many years even as far back as the 1980s when many of these stories were only thoughts, dreams, and pieces of imagination waiting for the right time.

Over the years, many of those pages became worn, torn, folded, faded, and crumbled from being carried, stored, moved, and saved through different chapters of my life. In order to present them today, some of those original ideas had to be carefully reworked and brought back visually in the closest way possible, while still keeping the feeling of the original scraps, sketches, rough notes, and early concepts.

This collection represents the beginning behind the finished work. It shows the rough side of creativity — the notes, the mistakes, the changes, the unfinished thoughts, and the ideas that eventually helped shape my books, characters, sci-fi worlds, safety projects, children’s books, comic concepts, and future stories.

Some of these ideas were never shown to anyone. They were private pieces of my imagination, kept quietly for years, waiting for the right time to become something more. What you see here is not just artwork or sketches. It is a glimpse into the creative journey behind E-Hawk Publishing and E-Hawk Generation years of imagination, faith, patience, learning, and purpose slowly becoming a legacy.

I want to thank everyone who takes the time to look at this work, read the stories, visit the website, support the books, and appreciate the journey behind them. Every finished book begins somewhere. Sometimes it begins with a simple note, a rough sketch, a small idea, or even a mistake that later becomes something better.

I also hope parents, teachers, and families can share this with children and show them that creativity takes time. Nothing great happens overnight. Ideas grow. Notes become plans. Sketches become characters. Dreams become books. There is a lot for young people to learn from this process patience, imagination, hard work, problem solving, and believing in what God placed inside of you.

Today, with computers, new software, digital tools, and artificial intelligence, it is amazing what we are able to create. These tools can help bring ideas to life in ways that were not possible years ago. And I believe it is only going to get better. But even with all this technology, the most important thing still starts inside the person the imagination, the purpose, the heart, and the willingness to keep creating.

From scraps to stories. From notes to books. From imagination to reality.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
